Overcoming such hardships as the accidental death of his brother, Johnny Cash stormed Nashville with his innovative blend of rock, folk, blues, gospel and country. But even as his creativity blossomed, his heavy drug use took a toll, leading to the failure of his first marriage, but with the help of June Carter, Cash was lifted out of his emotional chaos.

Series - Whistler on Star World at 10pm

Set against the backdrop of one of North America's most exciting locations for winter sports and home of the 2010 Olympics, Whistler rips open the veneer of glitz and glamour of this ski resort to expose the secrets that lie beneath the snow. The story follows two sisters, Carrie and Nicole Miller who're thrust into a web of sex, betrayal, blackmail and revenge after the death of local Olympic snowboard champion, Beck McKaye.

In this week's episode Quinn, who enlists his uncle help in the investigation of his brother's death, discovers that Beck was blackmailing the man who had signed him to an endorsement contract before he died.

Film - Sahara on Star Movies at 8.30pm

Starring Matthew McConaughey and PenŽlope Cruz. Explorer Dirk Pitt (McConaughey) and his wisecracking sidekick Al travel around the world salvaging treasures from the sea. When clues to a 150-year-old-mystery surface in Mali, Dirk and Al rush to investigate what they believe is the Texas, an Ironclad battleship that reportedly disappeared from Virginia, US during the Civil War and turned up in Africa.

MONDAY (Dec 17)

Film - I Capture the Castle on Super Movies at 7pm

Adapted from the popular novel by Dodie Smith, I Capture the Castle is set in 1930's Suffolk, England and is the story of teenage aspiring writer, Cassandra Mortmain. Living in shadow of her beautiful sister Rose, she documents the story of her eccentric family who live in a dilapidated castle, inherited by American Socialite Simon. This is a light hearted but fun story of teenage angst.

TUESDAY (Dec 18)

Series - Rome on America Plus at 8pm

Television's most expensively produced series ever is set in the time of Julius Caesar, chronicling the violent transformation from Roman Republic to Roman Empire. This is most definitely one of the best television series I've watched, with it's breathtaking sets and attention to detail, you can't help but be impressed. Definitely not to be missed!
