¥ The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) will host a food festival - 'Amidst Flavours - Zaike Ka Safar' at the Indian Club in Manama on April 18 from 4pm onwards. The festival will mark different New Year celebrations of various Indian communities including Baisakhi, Vishu, Bihu, Ugadi, Nowroz, Gudi Padva, Chetichand, Tamil New Year, Bengali New Year and Al Hijri New Year. ¥ The Bahrain Jewellery Centre presents 'Shakespeare 4 Kidz' Hamlet on April 19 at the Palm Hall in the Bahrain Exhibition Centre in Sanabis. The play will have two shows - matinee at 11.30am and an evening show at 5.30pm.
The show will star Paul Parris as Hamlet, Jason Lee Scott as Claudius, Pippa Jeronimo as Gertrude and Antony Stuart-Hicks as Polonius.
The play is on a month-long tour in the Middle East with play dates in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The tour opens in Bahrain followed by eight shows at the Centrepoint Theatre, DUCTAC in Dubai from April 21 - 24, two shows at the new theatre at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah on April 27 and finally two shows in Abu Dhabi on April 29.

¥ The third Gulf Jazz Festival Bahrain will be held at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Manama on April 20 at 8pm. Performing at the event, 'A Night for Astor' will be the Nuevo Tango Ensamble (Italy) featuring Gianni Iorio - bandoneon, Pasquale Stafano - pianoforte and Alessandro Terlizzi - contrabbasso. The trio has been presenting the project of tango-jazz titled "A night for Astor", with Piazzolla's composition played with jazz improvisations. They have also played with international jazz players such as Argentinean saxophone player Javier Girotto, and Italian clarinet player Gabriele Mirabassi. Doors open at 7pm and concert starts at 8pm. ¥ Indian classical dance form, Kathak will be featured on April 24 at the La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Manama. This classical dance form traces its origins to the nomadic bards of ancient northern India, known as Kathaks, or story tellers. These bards, performing in village squares and temple courtyards, mostly specialised in recounting mythological and moral tales from the scriptures, and embellished their recitals with hand gestures and facial expressions. ¥ The Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya will highlight the culture, traditions, customs and cuisine of Morocco as part of its Arabian Creative Event specials from April 29 to May 12. Moroccan artists Amal, Hamed Albousta, Hassan, Mohamed Mourabiti and Salah will showcase their works. The festival is the first in a series to introduce cultural enthusiasts to assorted arts, music, fashion, and cuisine.
