Wednesday (April 23)¥ Maison Jamsheer is presenting 'Talking Pictures - Bahraini Architecture in the Eye of Future Architects', an exhibition by University of Bahrain students, at the Bahraini French Cultural Centre in Muharraq until Saturday. The students studying architecture led by Dr Ali Al Raouf will exhibit more than 30 photographs highlighting 'the heritage and future' of Bahrain.

Thursday (April 24)

¥ The Kerala Social and Cultural Association (KSCA) will celebrate its silver jubilee at the Indian School auditorium, Isa Town, from 7.30pm.

It will feature a cultural programme with performances by singers Preetha, Ramesh Babu, Gayatri Govind and Santosh who are being flown in specially from Kerala, India.

Chief guests will be Information Ministry assistant under-secretary Fawzi Tolefat, Nair Service Society (NSS) secretary-general PK Narayana Panicker, Indian Embassy Charge D'Affairs AK Bhatnagar and Saudi-based businessman Dr Ravi Pillai.

Winners of various competitions conducted as part of the celebrations will be awarded cash prizes and mementos at the event. Entry is free for all.

¥ The Royal Society of St George will hold its annual St George's Day Red and White Ball at the Sheraton Hotel's Al Taj Ballroom at 7.30pm.

Entertainment will be provided by the Bahrain Public Security Band Chamber Orchestra, five-piece band Syd and the Tonics and MC and DJ Krazy Kevin.

A pre-dinner reception will be followed by a five-course meal with selected refreshments and a prize draw will also be held with the proceeds being donated to local charities.

¥ It's the last day of the Contemporary 'Hurouf' III exhibition at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya where works of artists including Abdullah Hariri, Ahmed Moualla and Abbas Yousif are presented. For information contact 17717707.

Friday (April 25)

¥ Singer, songwriter and television presenter Brian Kennedy will perform at the Upstairs Downstairs Restaurant in Adliya. The live and unplugged concert will begin at 10pm following dinner at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at BD25 for upstairs and BD35 for downstairs. For details contact 17713093.

¥ The Bahrain Toastmasters Annual Conference (BTAC) will be held today and tomorrow on the Adhari: Spring of Life. The Communication and Leadership (C&L) Award will be presented for the first time to a non-Toastmaster leader of Bahrain. ¥ The Bahrain Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) will present its 10th Anniversary Fashion Show coordinated and choreographed by Stephen Herschel. 'Facets' will be held at the Bapco Club in Awali and will feature DJ Krazy Kevin, Victoria Dance School, Lisa Morgan, Lizzy France amongst others. Doors open at 7pm. ¥ Bahrain-based Indian artist Tejbir Singh is showcasing his paintings at the Alliance Franaise in Isa Town until May 22. It is open from Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 2pm and from 3pm to 9pm and from 10am to 12.30pm on Friday.

Monday (April 28)

¥ The Tamarind at the Banyan Tree Spa and Resort is holding a Lobster Festival. On offer are specialties including Lobster Carpaccio, Char-Grilled Rock Lobster Tail and Lobster Thermidor. Opening hours are 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 11.30pm. Lunch only on Sundays and Tuesdays and closed on Mondays.

Lemonade Splash at the hotel's Pool Bar offers an outdoor relaxation with home-made lemonades, strawberry and chilli, lemon and mint, cinnamon and cloves and other flavours.
