¥ A festival of contemporary French cinema will be showcased by the Alliance Francaise Bahrain at the French Film Festival in Seef Mall from May 28 to June 9. The festival's line up includes seven movies - Je ne suis pas lˆ pour tre aimŽ (Not here to be loved), Le lait de la tendresse humaine (The milk of human kindness), Les Visiteurs (The visitors), Les parapluies de Cherbourg (The umbrella of Cherbourg), Kirikou et les betes sauvages (Kirikou and the wild beasts), Le petit lieutenant (The little lieutenant) and De l'autre c™tŽ de la mer (The other side of the sea) with subtitles available in Arabic and English. The festival aims at exploring the different dimensions of movie making, without restricting it to any specific genres or age groups with themes ranging from dramas to comedy and animation to musicals. ¥ The Indian Club in Manama is set to host the May Queen Ball 2008 on May 29. All contestants will go through a grooming session to be conducted by show choreographer Shamima Noorani. The contest will consist of three rounds on the catwalk.
There will be prizes for the winner, first and second runners-up as well as the winners of the Best Smile, Best Hairdo and Best Model.
