Hundreds of Batelco staff were glued to their computers on Thursday for the launch of the company's internal radio station Batelco Buzz.
Batelco corporate affairs team led by public relations specialist Ahmed Zainal introduced the exciting new service which will broadcast live to all Batelco staff via the company's intranet, every Thursday morning.
The innovative new service, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the region, was developed by Batelco corporate affairs department, in co-operation with Batelco's IT department, as part of the continuous efforts to enhance internal communications.
The first show featured a question and answer session with Batelco chief executive officer Peter Kaliaropoulos, headlines of new Batelco products and services and a number of variety spots featuring three members of Batelco's staff, Zahwa Al Heddi, Imran Al Aradhi and Osama Al Koheji.
"I'm delighted with the new internal radio station and the endless opportunities it provides for the entire Batelco team to have their say and keep each other informed about our customers, new products and services, our company's transformation and other matters of interest to our employees," said Mr Kaliaropoulos.
"It was a pleasure to walk around our Hamala building and observe our staff enthralled by the entertainment being broadcast through their PCs or laptops," said Batelco group board secretary and company spokesman Ahmed Al Janahi.
"Our staff can email any questions they have to a Batelco Buzz email address and our CEO will answer as many of them as possible each Thursday morning. This is an excellent initiative that opens up an additional channel of communication between the staff and the executive team."
