Stefen (Tom Cruise) is determined to leave the sleepy Pennsylvania mining town of Ampipe where he grew up. Being an exceptional athlete, Stefen sees football as his ticket out. His pursuit of a scholarship, however, puts him at odds with his combative coach (Craig T Nelson). While rebelling against his coach and his town, Stefen takes up with Lisa (Lea Thompson), an attractive schoolmate and talented saxophone player.

FRIDAY (Sept 19)

Film - I-SEE-YOU.COM on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

A biting comedy dealing with the contemporary issues of imploding family values, the obsession with reality shows and the dysfunctional quest for 15 minutes of fame. In the wake of the collapse of the dot.coms and the emerging obsession with reality-based entertainment in early 2001, I-See-You follows a family's meteoric rise to fame as their teen son secretly wires the house with cameras - broadcasting their dysfunctional antics and most private moments over the Internet - inadvertently creating the world's first realty show and becoming a millionaire in the process.

SATURDAY (Sept 20)

Film - Raising Arizona on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

H.I. McDonnough (Nicholas Cage) is an armed robber with multiple convictions who falls in love with Edwina (Holly Hunter), a young policewoman who takes his mug shots. They end up getting married, with H.I. vowing to stop robbing convenience stores. They try to start a family but Ed is unable to conceive. Since they can't adopt, due to H.I.'s extensive record, their marriage is going nowhere and Ed goes into a severe depression until she sees an item in the news saying Nathan Arizona (Trey Wilson), owner of a chain of unpainted furniture stores, has become the father of quintuplets. Complications arise when H.I. and Ed kidnap one of the infants, figuring they'll have a baby and the Arizonas will have less of a load.

SUNDAY (Sept 21)

Documentary - Adventure Wanted: Stock Car on NGA at 2.30pm.

MONDAY (Sept 22)

Film - John Tucker Must Die on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

Three teenagers two-timed by a local lothario decide to turn the tables on him in this romantic comedy. John Tucker is the captain and star player of the high school basketball team. He's got money, he's good-looking and charming and he can have any girl he wants. However, the latter attribute gets him in serious trouble when three different girls at his school - Heather, Beth and Carrie - discover they've all been dating John at the same time and determine to bring down the campus ladykiller.

TUESDAY (Sept 23)

Documentary - World Travellers: Yukon on NGA at 2.30pm.
