Almoayyed Motors, the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury importer-dealer in Bahrain, has unveiled two new Ford models - the Flex full-size crossover and the Fusion, a mid-size sedan, at a ceremony in the Gulf Hotel's Al Dana Ballroom.
The company hopes that these additions to the brand's line-up will boast its already formidable sales success story in the kingdom.
"The addition of the Flex and Fusion gives a boost to the Ford showroom as we offer additional choices to our Bahraini customers," said Venkatesh Goud, Almoayyed Motors' general manager. "Both these models hold a dynamic appeal and we are confident that they will witness an overwhelming response in Bahrain."
Ford is enjoying an upbeat trend lately with a plethora of new nameplates joining its Middle East showrooms. With the Flex and the Fusion, the Ford line-up is now more diversified than ever.
Year-to-date Middle East sales of Ford, Mercury and Lincoln are up by nearly one third over last year, registering a record performance for Ford Middle East.
The growth is mainly driven by the increasing demand over trucks and utility vehicles across the three brands, which in total sold 45 per cent more this year.
In Bahrain, this trend is similar, with an overall 12 per cent growth, and a 24 per cent increase in trucks and SUV sales. Best sellers were the Ford Escape (up by 128 per cent); Expedition (up by 200 per cent); Explorer (up by 39 per cent); Lincoln MKX (up by 100 per cent) and Mercury Mountaineer (up by 41 per cent). "Ford clearly has a success story and our growth is in full gear thanks to these great products," said Jihad Baroudi, national sales manager for Ford Middle East. "With the Flex and Fusion, Ford offers an extensive and diverse lineup of award winning sedans and utility vehicles."
Flex - priced at around BD13,000-14,000 - is a vehicle that dares to be different, the company says. Its contemporary design provokes strong opinions. Its new technologies are intelligent and engaging. All in all, Ford Flex is like no other vehicle on the road today, and that may mean it's not for everyone.
Flex is also equipped with SYNC, the Ford-exclusive, voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system. Developed jointly with Microsoft, SYNC provides consumers the convenience and flexibility to bring into their vehicle nearly any mobile phone or digital media player and operate it using voice commands or the steering wheel or radio.
The mid-size Ford Fusion at BD7,500 offers good fuel economy, advanced safety, clean emissions and roomy interior space - all at an attractive value.
Its four-cylinder engine delivers 160 horsepower, and is paired with a five-speed automatic transaxle. Fusion comes with standard 4-wheel power disc brakes with ABS, allowing for more driver confidence.
