GULF AIR-sponsored Queens Park Rangers has praised the support of their new-found fans in Bahrain.

Since linking up with the nation's airline in the summer, the club have received overwhelming levels of support from the Bahraini people and were inundated with best wishes prior to the recent trip to Old Trafford, which saw mighty Manchester United steal a 1-0 victory in a Carling Cup clash.

QPR's Press & PR manager Ian Taylor said: "The Bahraini people seem to have taken QPR to their hearts since our involvement with Gulf Air and we're eternally grateful to them."

QPR's deputy managing director Ali Russell added: "The level of support we've received from our fans in the Gulf has been wonderful and hopefully we can give them plenty more to shout about between now and the end of the season.

"We'd like to pass on our thanks to Gulf Air, whose support for the club has been excellent since our relationship began. Their passion and enthusiasm for all things Rangers has been remarkable and it's clearly rubbing off on the locals in Bahrain."

A group of Bahrainis who won a company draw were spotted cheering on the Super Hoops alongside our three GulfWeekly contest prize-guys last Saturday.
