Porsche enthusiasts turned out in force for the launch of the latest Cayman and Boxster models at the Behbehani Brothers showroom in Sitra.
The theme for the night was black and white with musicians and models on hand to make sure the evening went with a swing. The new models form an important part of Porsche's future strategy as previous versions of both vehicles have been selling very well in Bahrain alongside the ever-popular 911 and Cayenne range.
Deesch Papke, managing director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, said: "Each car has its own special character, further enhanced with Porsche's latest technologies, giving customers the driving experience they have come to expect from our company."
Both the new generation cars feature the much-publicised Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe gearbox - or PDK for short.
For the first time in this model line the engines of the S models (3.4 litre) feature direct fuel injection (DFI) giving maximum performance on minimum fuel. With this system the fuel and air is mixed inside the combustion chamber giving cooler temperatures in the cylinder and increased efficiency.
Both cars also feature extra-large air intakes, LED daytime lights and the option of ceramic brakes.
Anthony Raymond, brand manager, said: "It's great to be able to offer the new generation of Boxster and Cayman to our customers."
The models are available in the Porsche Centre Bahrain Showroom. The basic retail prices for the models are as follows:
Boxster - BD16,800; Boxster S - BD19,600; Cayman - BD18,100; Cayman S - BD20,700.
