wednesday (Mar 18) Film - Cinderella Man on Star Movies at 8.30pm

As the US enters the Great Depression, former boxer Jim Braddock accepts a string of dead-end jobs to support his wife, Mae, and their children. Thanks to a last-minute cancellation, Braddock finds himself back in the ring against the second-ranked world contender and, to everyone's amazement, he wins. Despite repeated injuries, Braddock continues to win. Carrying on his shoulders the hopes of the disenfranchised, Braddock, dubbed the 'Cinderella Man', now faces his toughest challenger in Max Baer, the heavyweight champion.

THURSDAY (Mar 19)

Film - Smilla's Sense of Snow on Fox Movies at 9pm.

Half Greenland Inuit and half American, Smilla Jaspersen has been torn between two worlds her entire life - the world in which she lives and the world that she remembers. Brought to Copenhagen from Greenland by her father at the tender age of six, Smilla has never felt truly at home in her adopted country. Smilla lives in a world of numbers, of science and of memories of a dark exotic stranger in a strange land. This intellectualised cocoon in which Smilla wraps herself is ripped apart by the death of the one person Smilla has allowed into her life - a six-year-old Inuit boy from Smilla's native Greenland.

FRIDAY (Mar 20)

Film - Punch-Drunk Love on Fox Movies at 11pm.

A dark comedy set around Barry Egan, the socially impaired owner of a small business distributing novelty toilet plungers in the San Fernando Valley. Dominated by seven sisters, and constantly negotiating his own manhood, he is unlikely to find romance unless romance finds him. In an attempt to resolve his loneliness, while having a vulnerable moment, Barry contacts a phone sex operator who, in turn, threatens him with blackmail. The operator sends some thugs on a mission from Utah to California, to follow, scare, and blackmail Barry who becomes desperate, until a new door opens in his life.

SATURDAY (Mar 21)

Film - Goal! on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

When 10-year-old Santiago Munez crossed the Mexican border into America, he had two things in his possession: his football and a tattered picture of the World Cup. Growing up in Los Angeles, Santiago dreams of becoming an international football star. But his father doesn't share his vision. When Santiago is spotted at a local match by Brit scout Glen Foy, he gets a chance to play in the big league with Newcastle United where he is faced with many obstacles that must be overcome in order to reach his ultimate goal. Set against the backdrop of international football, Goal! features cameos from some of the best-known names in the game, including David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Raul and Newcastle captain Alan Shearer.

SUNDAY (Mar 22)

Film - The Bone Collector on Fox Movies at 11pm.

New York City detective Lincoln Rhyme, who specialises in forensics, was once the country's leading criminologist. Following a near-fatal injury in the line of duty, Rhyme is left bed-bound, his arms and legs useless, and with little will to live. Feisty, street-smart policewoman Amelia Donaghy is in her early 20s but already feels aged beyond her years. On the eve of being transferred to a desk job, her last call as a street cop leads her to a crime scene and the discovery of a gruesomely-mutilated corpse. After taking a look at the physical evidence file and the photos therein, Rhyme is intrigued with the case.

MONDAY (Mar 23)Film - When We Were Kings on Fox Movies at 9pm.

Highly acclaimed Academy Award winner for Best Documentary Feature, When We Were Kings was 22 years in the making and follows the George Foreman-Muhammad Ali 'Rumble in the Jungle' - one of the most famous heavyweight championship bouts in history. It documents Ali's infamous 'Rope-a-Dope' tactic that helped take him from underdog to champion and follows the back-story of the event and its cultural significance. Interviews include Don King, George Plimpton and Norman Mailer as well as concert footage from BB Brown and James Brown.

TUESDAY (Mar 24)

Film - Rob Roy on Star Movies at 8.30pm.

Robert Roy MacGregor, a cattle drover and proud head of a Highlands clan, takes a loan from the royal Marquis of Montrose in order to make a profit on some livestock that will keep his struggling people alive through the coming winter. One of the Marquis' henchmen, Archibald Cunningham, learns of the loan and steals the money by murdering Rob Roy's best friend. Unable to repay the loan and unwilling to give up his land, Rob Roy becomes a fugitive. Scottish-British politics come to a boil over the Rob Roy affair.
