AVIATION was the theme for the Hermes Autumn Winter collection which launched at the recent Paris Fashion Week, reports LIZ O'Reilly.

The Jean Paul Gaultier designed range included floor sweeping evening gowns, knitwear, long, sheepskin or leather coats, military style raincoats and hooded trenches.

In what should be impossible, leather and satin trousers made a stylish return with hardly a hint of the 80s' monstrosities usually associated with these fabrics.

And these were coupled with warm vests, gilets, bomber jackets, overalls and cardigans.

Knee length dresses and long, bell shaped skirts added to a look which, produced in sombre colours, could have proved severe if it weren't for the super luxurious fabrics.

Hremes is available in Bahrain at Moda Mall and, though the latest looks may be a little warm for our weather, there are some classic styles there for those planning on travelling overseas or stocking up for the cooler months - though I'm not sure the flying helmets and goggles will catch on.
