GULF AIR-sponsored Queens Park Rangers         continued that unbeaten        run this season in the        Championship by gaining       a useful point away at          Plymouth.

The London side looked likely to collect all three points but an injury-time own goal from Kaspars Gorkss saw Plymouth take a share of the spoils.

Heidar Helguson’s first-half header looked to have given QPR victory. Rangers had taken the lead three minutes before the break when Helguson scored from Adel Taarabt’s free kick.

But victory was denied after late pressure from Plymouth saw defender Gorkss bundle Gary Sawyer’s cross into his own net.

QPR manager Jim Magilton said: “We are disappointed with the final moment, their goal, especially after we had dealt with their set pieces all afternoon.

“We set out very attack minded today, we dominated possession, we had some wonderful opportunities to win the game. But we didn’t lose the game and we know that Plymouth is a difficult place to come to.”

A few days earlier the Super Hoops secured safe passage into the next round of the Carling Cup with a five-goal barrage.

Wayne Routledge scored a hat-trick as QPR reached the second round by thrashing Exeter, who also had Scott Golbourne sent off.

It took Routledge 13 second-half minutes to grab the first hat-trick of his career and assure victory for QPR.

QPR face Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday.
