Volker Mornhinweg, chairman, Mercedes-AMG, unveiled a special gold 'gullwing' SLS AMG at the 10th International Middle East Motor Show.
The new super sports car from Mercedes-AMG, which can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 317 km/h. goes on sale in the Middle East & Levant in the first quarter of 2010 and costs from $210,000 (BD78,346).
"I am delighted that we could show off the first AMG that we have produced from a blank sheet of paper," said Mr Mornhinweg.
"Where better than the City of Gold to reveal our gold gullwing."
Also making its regional debut was a special Middle East-only version of the much-loved G-Class SUV that is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Limited to just 79 vehicles - to mark the 1979 date of production - this special G-Class is available in G55 AMG guise and features special mango allanite grey paintwork, 19-inch titanium finish alloy wheels and a unique interior.
"We believe that our special edition will make its mark with this vehicle's growing band of enthusiasts," said Frank Bernthaler, director, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Middle East and Levant.
