SCHOOLBOY Adam Jones, caught up in a bitter battle to bring him home to Bahrain, has told a court that he wants to return to his mother Rebecca's care.
The 10-year-old's heartfelt plea to a judge was made at a custody appeal hearing in Qatar where he is being held by his late father's family.
Rebecca, pictured above with Adam, said: "For the first time in months I feel positive. I was so very proud of my son who stood up in front of everyone and told the judge that he wanted to be with me. He has grown up so much in the past few months. He is a beautiful little boy with a beautiful clean heart. I love him."
Rebecca claims she was tricked into signing legal papers in Arabic and is contesting Adam's custody that the Qatari courts granted to his ailing 77-year-old grandmother, Mariam Al Madhaiki.
Adam has remained separated from his mother since October last year when he was allegedly kidnapped by his late father's family. Rebecca was married briefly to Jamal Al Madhaiki, who died in 2005.
The case will resume in court on March 1 to allow the Al Madhaiki family to make its case.
