LITTLE Alexandra Estanom delighted the capacity audience at last year's BSPCA 70s Ball at Awali with a wonderful performance of These Boots Are Made For Walking ... and she will now be stepping out on to the studio floor for a live performance tonight on Bahrain TV's Channel 55.
The sweet seven-year-old can hit the high and low notes with ease thanks to mum, Natalia, an acclaimed vocal coach in Bahrain.
The British School pupil is undecided on whether to perform a modern Miley Cyrus chart hit or a blast from the past, namely Lullaby of Broadway, the award-winning classic which was introduced by Wini Shaw in the musical film Gold Diggers of 1935 and, in an unusual move, used as background music in a sequence in the Bette Davis film Special Agent that same year.
"Alexandta loves to sing and dance and is really looking forward to tonight. She first appeared on stage at the age of four at the British Club," said Natalia, who comes from Belarus. Proud dad George is a senior architect from Lebanon and the family live in Saar. Alexandra and her three-month-old sister Nicole were born in Bahrain.
GulfWeekly has joined up with the English language station of the nation to undercover the kingdom's most promising entertainer.
We will highlight every contestant invited to appear on the Talent Trail 2010 segment of presenter Krazy Kevin's Music Mania chart show.
Readers and viewers will be able to vote in a special final edition of the programme and the contestant who receives the most cast will walk away with a prize trophy.
A panel of invited judges will be invited to comment on the recorded performances ... but it will be your email vote that counts.
Catch the show tonight at 8pm. It will be repeated on Friday and Sunday at 9pm too. Presenter Krazy Kevin said: "I'm delighted GulfWeekly has come on board for Bahrain's first-ever television talent competition.
"I have been amazed at the interest Talent Trail 2010 has generated and there certainly appears to be many performers in the kingdom with the K factor!"
The contest is open to all nationalities and ALL ages, you simply have to be a resident of Bahrain and be a solo act. If you can dance, sing, perform magic or tell a few jokes email krazykevin@hotmail.com for your chance of stardom.
