THE Lost Paradise of Dilmun water theme park recently hosted a free basic first aid awareness course for the community attended by more than 30 parents.
In recent years several children have drowned in the pools of their homes on the island and safety officials have urged parents and carers to learn life-saving techniques.
"With the summer season now well underway and temperatures starting to soar more people will be taking to their pools to relax and have fun," said Adam Page, the park's public relations manager.
"It is important for us to be able to help the community. We do our best to educate our guests in the park on water safety and we wanted to extend this practice by sharing our experience about first aid awareness with our surrounding community. We are in a perfect position to give a little back to our local supporters."
The free presentation and first aid awareness course was presented to the Sabsab committee and conducted by Issa Asmar, head of LPOD operations, Hussein Baydoun, lifeguard supervisor and Mahmood Hassan, a senior lifeguard.
The water park recently received an internationally-acclaimed certification for its saftety procedures, as reported in GulfWeekly.
