THE Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Theme Park (LPOD) has launched a youth and schools fun day out educational package called Splash-E', with water-safety training and history as its focus.
The first group to experience the initiative were an internal scouts group from the Al Sehla School.
Twenty eager young Bahraini scouts arrived at LPOD in the morning and were given a brief of the day's activities and let free to have fun in the park before enjoying lunch. At 2pm the group was brought to a VIP area where members were given 30-minutes training with included information about water safety awareness and how to help someone in trouble in the water.
Group members also tried out different rescue techniques using proper procedures and later quizzed lifeguards about their job, skills and tips for keeping safe. A fun prize quiz followed designed and themed around historical facts of the ancient Dilmun era.
General manager Paul Blunt said: "LPOD has launched this great package for schools, social groups and clubs to help educate people so that they can enjoy water action now the summer is upon us.
"Water safety is an 'absolute' in our industry and passing on vital instruction and common safety practice to the younger generation is a great concept if done in an affordable way in fun surroundings."
The Splash-Ed package allows reduced entry to LPOD at DB6.5, including meal, for groups of at least 20.
