THE Twin Palms Riding Centre Dressage League 2009/2010 will hold the third of its high level dressage competitions this Thursday.

The show will be hosted by Shakhoora Riding Centre and will take place in the afternoon.

Entries for Class 1 novice, junior and adult, Class 2 elementary mixed and Class 3 medium mixed can be faxed to the riding centre's office on 17592740. Call 17591103 for more details.

The rules, terms and conditions and copies of all tests can be found on the Twin Palms Riding Centre website: www.twinpalmsridingcentre.com

As a quarter of the year has already passed the equestrian season takes a mini break, gearing itself up for the end of season round of competitions.

With many riders going away for the holiday period, some stables have taken this as an opportunity to sit back and relax over the break.

The Dilmun has shut the stable door (ha, ha! Excuse the pun) with a four-day break over the Easter period. However, Twin Palms has decided to cater to those at home (already bored children on what would be only day two of the holidays) with pony camps.

Camps will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and April 13, and run from 9am to noon.

The camps give children the opportunity to groom a pony, learn a bit about how to look after the ponies correctly, to learn about the tack, ride and generally have lots of fun. Check out the TPRC website page for more information.

The 5th Bahrain National Arabian Horse Show will be held on April 2-3, at the Public Security Ground in Budaiya, with the events starting at 3pm.

The next Breef show jumping event will be held on April 16, with Al Jazira Stables now holding its show jumping event on April 23. I hope to have more information regarding this show for you next week.

On Monday, the first meeting was held of the Junior Show Jumping Committee formed by the BREEF Show Jumping Committee itself, to come up with motivational ideas for the forthcoming season.

On the committee for the juniors is course builder and judge Mohammed Dadulla, with fellow judges Efti Mohammed, Shelley Owen, Yvonne Addison, Ana Karina Murra and Amelia Boyd - all with the aim of promoting and improving forthcoming events for potential show jumpers of the future.

The committee will discuss and outline the objectives for the forthcoming 2010/2011 season, the junior points system, show formats, junior show jumping clinics amongst other matters.

Ian Wright is back at Twin Palms Riding Centre until Friday and to book lessons call Helen on 3908 7724 or email Twin.Palms.Riding.Centre@hotmail.com
