Local players are being urged to sign up for the second annual Royal Golf Club Mixed Open after invitations were sent out to members of other golf clubs in the region.
"This popular tournament will be played over two days this year on May 14-15," explained Phil Jones, the club's director of golf. "There are some fantastic prizes to be won including return flights to London for the winning pair so we're expecting a large number of entrants."
Gulf Air, EuroMotors and the Golden Tulip Hotel have all come on board as sponsors of the tournament which will be held in the mixed greensomes format. Each competitor will receive a player's gift after registration on day one and will enjoy breakfast on both days and a lunch and prize-giving ceremony at the conclusion of the tournament. A number of trophies and valuable prizes are also on offer.
Overseas competitors can get discounted flights from airports around the GCC courtesy of Gulf Air and the Golden Tulip is offering preferential room rates.
