The GulfWeekly Premiership staged two exciting and intense games as four sides battled for points with the league coming to a close.
The first match saw the St Christopher's School take on AC Jurassics, who were short on numbers as they were missing midfielder Andy Watson and defenders Kevin Moss and Grant Merrell. However, while they had only seven players and no substitutes, the return of midfielder Phil Jones was a boost for the team.
Meanwhile, St Christopher's had a full squad with four substitutes.
The Jurrasics took the lead within the first five minutes after some great play from forward Chris Mason and striker Russ Brown who shot the ball into the bottom corner of the net after a fumble from St Christopher's keeper Mike Jardine.
Experienced St Chris striker Mark Holness then scored a simple tap-in to make it 1-1. Going into half time, St Chris midfielder Dan Lee scored again. The Jurrasics came close to an equaliser in the second half after Mason put Leigh Harris through but the young midfielder shot just wide.
Despite solid defence work from Jurassics veteran pairing, they soon began to tire and St Chris started to gain more control of the game. St Chris went up 3-1 after a quick break once again from Holness saw him play a one-two to finish neatly in the bottom corner.
The Jurassics kept plugging away but the school's back line stayed strong until the final stages of the game saw Mason finish off some neat play to fire past the keeper. The match finished 3-2, a great result for a vastly improving St Christopher's School.
The night's second game was an all-important one between the struggling British Club and title chasers Wahooo!, who went into the match knowing that anything other than a win would gift the title to the Dilmun Club.
Understandably the match started off as a cagey affair with both teams struggling to find form and fluency. Chances were few and far between with both defences coming out on top during the early exchanges.
Early on, Wahooo! striker and talisman player Chris Tricker went over on his ankle which resulted in him being carried off the pitch with an ankle the size of a tennis ball.
Fears that Wahooo! would struggle to score were quickly unfounded when they won a free kick 25 yards out near the touchline. Midfield powerhouse Dave Ellison delivered an unstoppable shot for a precious 1-0 lead. The British Club lads were stung into action with the league's top goal scorer Matt Irons going close on a number of occasions.
Owen Coll pulled one back for the British Club before Ellison again notched the winner.
Although the British Club tried to find a way back into the game Wahooo! held on for a 2-1 victory to ensure that the destination of the league title goes on for another week at least.
As the paper went to print, the Dilmun Club faced the British School knowing victory would secure them the first GulfWeekly Premiership League trophy. Any slip-ups would allow Wahooo! to steal the prize next week.
