Kia's new luxury sports sedan Cadenza was unveiled at a special ceremony held at Bahrain City Centre.
Designed under the direction of Kia's chief design officer (CDO), Peter Schreyer, who joined from Audi and VW, the Cadenza is a sporty, sleek and dynamic performer - offering exceptional comfort, refinement and high-tech features.
The name is derived from an Italian musical term used to describe an elaborate, ornamental flourish for a concerto or aria.
Ahmed A Bin Hindi, president & CEO of AA Bin Hindi, the brand's distributors in the kingdom, said: "This is the first premium car for Kia and boasts a modern, dynamic design featuring many options that driver's desire.
"We have already been receiving a lot of interest and response - the market in Bahrain is demanding with customers looking for quality brands and value for money."
Kia's new front-wheel drive 'Type-N' platform makes its first appearance in the Cadenza and a new unitary bodyshell together with all-new suspension systems helped it achieve a weight loss of up to 130kg.
A futuristic 'floating' dashboard highlights Kia's innovative design approach. The 'welcome' system turns on the exterior puddle and interior lights to 'greet' the car owner, while the interior mood lighting strip creates a warm ambience within the vehicle. The cabin is outstanding and available high-tech features include: keyless entry, engine start button and a panoramic glass sunroof.
The Cadenza is available in gasoline 3.5 litre V6 engine and is fitted with an all-new six-speed automatic 'filled for life' maintenance-free unit transmission. Special features include 'silent-running' maintenance-free steel timing chains.
The new sedan looks masculine and luxurious. The distinctive 'tiger nose' front with its signature grille and headlights are evidence of Kia's 'new self-confidence', according to its designers.
The visual impact generated by Cadenza's profile is boosted by the fitting of a chrome garnish to the prominent moulding along the bottom of the doors.
Second-generation indirect, surface-emitting type LED position lights are used to define the width of the car and the shape of the headlamps and rear combination lamps. The dual mufflers integrated into the dynamic styling of the rear bumper, enhances the new Cadenza's sporty appearance.
The top-of-the range model is available for BD12,000. For further details, contact the showroom on 17408000.
