I READ the recent Marina Misery article written by Mai Al Khatib with great interest.
I am wondering if you would be able to assist me in getting some answers regarding the Villamar Project managed by Gulf Holding Company.
I have bought an apartment in Tower B of the Villamar Project and most of the money has already been paid in installments.
Earlier this year I heard from other buyers that construction on this project has come to a complete standstill.
I contacted GHC and they sent me a document in an attempt to allay the fears of investors. I am not sure if we are getting the full story and I would be really grateful if you would try and get some answers for us. Has the construction stopped? If so, why? What is the next step? The investors demand answers.

Editor's note: GulfWeekly approached GHC in July for an interview and for its comments on the concerns raised by the letter writer. We still await a positive response and an appointment. Our sister newspaper, the Gulf Daily News, reported last week that Manama Municipal Council had given a 'conditional' go-ahead for one of the buildings to be turned into a hotel but said GHC would need government approval to ensure there was no utility or infrastructure overloads as a result of the change of plans.
I JUST wanted to write and say a big thank you for such a great article in GulfWeekly last week about swimming pool safety.
I thought (and many colleagues have also approached me to agree) that it was really well presented and very informative and we all hope that it will prevent other similar accidents from occurring.
