ST Christopher's School in Saar is busily preparing for its Festive Fayre, which will be taking place on the Saar campus on Friday, November 26. All the funds raised from the fayre will go directly into supporting the teaching and learning of the children.

The 'Friends of St Christopher's' organisation, is now collecting prizes, gifts and games to ensure that the day will be fun-filled and action-packed!

Student councillors from the Infant and Junior schools have been preparing letters to send out to shops and businesses across Bahrain, asking them to pledge a raffle prize for the fayre.

If you own a business and would like to donate a raffle prize then please contact to the school directly on 17598600.

Friends of St Chris,

Bahrain.

I WAS stunned to read about the plight of Brits who have fallen on hard times in Bahrain (last week's GulfWeekly letters page).

Surely the British Embassy should step in and protect its citizens. It hardly seems right to hear of British businessman suicidal and sleeping on the streets.

J Butt, Saar.

I think Adam Jones should be returned to his mother. I have been following the story about the St Christopher's schoolboy taken by his late father's relatives in Qatar for a long time on Facebook.

It is truly very sad how this has been allowed to happen. I feel no good will come of it and the poor boy must be very confused and unhappy about his situation.

In the long run it will do no good to the relatives keeping him away from his mother. He needs to be reunited with his family and friends in Bahrain as soon as possible.

Jane Armstrong,

by email.
