NOW in its second season, Stars of Science, the Pan-Arab TV contest on innovation initiated by Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development, is putting innovators under the spotlight once more.
The first three weekly episodes of the programme broadcast on Sundays were dedicated to the tour leading to the selection of the 16 candidates who have the chance to enter the Stars of Science workshop, in Doha, in order to develop their chosen project.
Out of the 7,000 applications from all over the world, an international committee of experts shortlisted 125 profiles - each holding an innovative project concept.
In a first stage, these hopefuls were invited to one of the contest's local selection arenas across the region and were given an allocated time to present their project.
In order to evaluate the candidates and their projects, as well as to decide if they could make it to the next stage, specific jurors were drafted for each casting stop.
Out of this initial step, 27 hopefuls were picked to participate in the final in front of a jury, which had to select the 16 candidates to enter the contest.
Stars of Science is being aired on Bahrain TV. For the latest updates, log on to www.starsofscience.com which also includes information on the application process for Season 3, which is already open.
