"Another Island Classic has come to an end, and we are delighted to say that it was a tremendous success. During the last 14 years, the event has earned a legendary status, and the golfing community of Bahrain waits with baited breath for the next event to come around," said event organiser Bahnaz Abbas.
"Fortunately, we have managed to organise a first-rate event during all these years, and I would like to take the opportunity to give thanks to those who have been instrumental in making this event a success.
"First and foremost I express my sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad, whose tremendous support by lending us the golf course helped make the Island Classic an exclusive golfing event.
"Also, this would not have been possible without the support of the sponsors and the hard work of the volunteers."
Dr Cheriyan added: "On the one hand, the golfers had a wonderful time on King Hamad's golf course with this round of golfing; at the same time, we have been able to raise funds for a worthy cause enabling the hospital to serve their patients with better facilities at reasonable costs at the same time.
"I am grateful to all those who worked hard and brought about the success of the event. I am sure all the golfers who have had a chance to play these three days appreciate all the work gone towards giving them an exciting tournament."
