The search is on for Bahrain’s most talented performer as the stage is set for the hottest contest of the summer at the Lost Paradise of Dilmun waterpark.
The first heat of the second ‘LPOD’s Got Talent’ show kicks off this coming Saturday and is open to guests of all ages as part of the attraction’s annual summer festival of fun which runs until the end of July.
Adam Alexander Page, its head of marketing and public relations, said: “LPOD is a fantastic attraction in Bahrain where in the summer you can enjoy 11 hours of entertainment for the entrance price.
“We wanted to create even more fun for our guests so we are back with the 2nd Summer Festival. More than 250 people entered the talent show last year and over 50,000 people came during the summer festival period and we hope it will be even better this year.”
Last summer, human beat box-ers, poets, hip hop dancers and even Michael Jackson impersonators entered the contest. Teenager Ali Al Ka’abi stole the show with stunning versions of hits by celebrated Bahraini singer Ali Bahar to walk away with a bundle of prizes including BD250 and the chance to lay down tracks at a professional recording studio, courtesy of Top Tune Audio Services.
There are also cash prizes for second and third places and annual passes to be won.
The contest runs from 1pm-5pm every Saturday for six weeks, taking in four qualifiers, a semi-final and a grand final.
The summer festival fun also includes a daily painting exercise entitled ‘In love of Bahrain’, a wall climbing contest every Wednesday, ladies night each Thursday, swim in music sessions on Friday and Saturday, and a battle boat competition every Friday.
Mr Page added: “With the three types of rentable cabana, now with A/C, it doesn’t matter how fantastically hot it gets in Bahrain you can relax in the cool water or in your own space. It’s perfect for the little ones that need shade and some cool air at LPOD and the new battle boat attraction is a must see for the younger ones!”
