Hartley Collective, an established UK jazz band, currently based in Bahrain, will be making an appearance at Upstairs Downstairs Restaurant.

Comprising of Emily Lim on trumpet, Mick Raggatt on piano and Ben Perry on bass and guitar, the group has been attracting a growing following for its own blend of upbeat jazz, Latin and laid-back pop vibes.

JJ’s Irish Restaurant will present international artist Sandi Thom live in concert at 10pm. Tickets are on sale at the door for BD 5. For details contact 39836196.

The Pakistani Women’s Association will host its Educational Scholarship Fund Dinner at the Miami Park clubhouse at 7.30pm. A variety of acts will be featured including comedian Imran Al Aradi, Victoria from Victoria Dance Studio who will give two dance performances and 104.2 FM’s show host Paresh ‘Aapka’ Paresh will also appear.

The Bahrain Chamber Orchestra will be performing its ‘Music for a summer evening’ concert at the Cultural Hall, near Bahrain National Museum, at 7.30pm. The orchestra, made up of 17 musicians performs music from the Baroque and Classical repertoire and chamber works. A donation will be made to charitable organisations, particularly to help victims of the recent tsunami in Japan. The Studio Ceramics Summer Camp for children aged six to 11 begins today with experiments from Mad Science. The camp will be held until Ramadan, from Sunday to Thursday from 9am-1pm. A group exhibition ‘Femmes’ featuring five Bahraini artists will open today at the Centre Culturel Franco-Bahreïnien La Maison Jamsheer in Muharraq at 7pm. Aziza Baloushi, May Mufeez, Noof Alrefaei, Shaikha Al Doseri and Thajba Najeeb will display their work at the exhibition - an expression of women’s liberty. It will be held until June 19 and timings are 9am-1pm and 3pm-9pm from Sunday to Thursday and 9am -1pm and 4pm-7pm on Fridays. For details contact 17683295.
