THE Whisperer would like to thank the big-hearted stranger who rescued two GulfWeekly damsels in distress last week in true Bahraini style.

Our advertising reps Susan and Lucy were stuck close to the Diplomat hotel feeling particularly blue after suffering a flat tyre.

Within seconds, Ibrahim in his shining blue DHL uniform, pulled up in his car to offer assistance, grabbing the spare tyre and tackling the task at hand in the heat of the afternoon. “He was a true gentleman,” said Susan. “It’s totally restored my faith in humanity. When we asked why he had stopped he simply said – I just had to help, I’m a Bahraini.”

And that, Ibrahim, is why expats love living and working in the kingdom.
