The Sneha Centre has launched its 2011 ‘Eye for Creativity’ collection of 10 greeting cards for Eid.
Four new designs have been launched by the Centre this year, using works of art produced by children with special needs at Sneha, a recreational centre run by the Indian Ladies Association.
The sale of the greeting cards is part of an assisted art programme conducted by Sneha where the children prepare pictures which are then professionally printed to make greeting cards.
Since its inception in 2000, more than 250,000 cards have been sold in Bahrain and around the region.
Sneha co-ordinator Meera Kamath, said: “Last year, we were able to market the cards outside Bahrain and ventured successfully into Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Qatar and Dubai.
“Sneha cards reflect the warmth and generosity of unconditional love these children exhibit as well as their untiring enthusiasm. This project is an empowering act that teaches these children to be self-reliant by turning their challenges into triumphs.”
An exclusive collection for Christmas will also be launched in September.
The Sneha Centre was established in 1987 to offer a fun environment for children with special needs and is run free of charge.
