Bahrain City Centre hosted the ‘Kick up your heels’ Walkathon on Saturday – a 3km walk to support Think Pink Bahrain.
Fitness First instructors set the pace for almost 300 walkers on a course traversing all levels of the mall, towards the final 3km finish line.
The Walkathon raised more than BD2,800 which will go to supporting the Mohammed Fakhro & Bros MRI Fund towards the purchase of a new digital Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine, a key instrument used in the early detection of breast cancer.
The ‘Kick up your heels’ Walkathon will become an annual event to raise further awareness and cash donations as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the kingdom.
For the month of October, Bahrain City Centre continues to make Pink Ribbons available at all Customer Service counters. For a small donation, visitors can wear the Pink Ribbon – the internationally-recognised symbol for breast cancer awareness and continue to spread the spirit of community.
