Gulf Weekly Write to the editor

I love GulfWeekly for the wonderful features your talented team of scribes regularly produce and was particularly moved by the article ‘A Survivor’s Tale’ in last week’s issue.

There is no other publication I have found on the island that constantly delivers such in-depth analysis on subjects so important to the well-being of people of all nationalities living in Bahrain.

It’s the first thing I pick up on a Wednesday morning – even before my GDN.

I think St Christopher’s head of junior school Wendy Bataineh will be an inspiration to all those diagnosed as suffering from cancer. She is a living example of how positive thoughts and a loving family and friends can make all the difference in the long and difficult battle against the disease.

I was also impressed by her pledge to offer guidance and support to other cancer sufferers. Well done, Wendy and good luck in the future.

I thought you might be interested to know that the GPIC ladies are thinking pink. Our chief medical officer shared GulfWeekly’s front page story about breast cancer survivor Wendy Bataineh with all members of staff after the online version was forwarded to her.

‘Do not miss this interesting story’, she told colleagues, and always THINK PINK!
Michelle,
By email.

It was a great write up about Wendy in last week’s GulfWeekly. Good for her about talking ... courage.

Staff members at St Christopher’s School in Saar are planning a Think Pink Day in the school staffroom tomorrow. We have Think Pink Bahrain and Al Zain Jewellers coming to sell merchandise and the Hope Bracelet.

Party Mania has sponsored the decoration of the staff room and local hospitals have been contacted for their brochures on women’s health checks.

Staff will also be wearing pink and will be baking cupcakes to sell. In addition, Cakes Avenue are supplying Think Pink cupcakes at a specially-agreed rate.

The main reception desk at the school also has a collection box and pink ribbons to sell to parents all this week.
