A concert by Ars Antiqua de Paris will be held at the Golden Tulip Hotel at 7.30pm. The ensemble was founded in 1965 by Michel Sanvoisin (recorders) and Joseph Sage (counter tenor). The number of musicians may vary from three to 10. The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association, Bahrain (AMUAAB) will host an international Urdu – Hindi poetry recital (Mushaira) at the Cultural Hall next to the Bahrain National Museum at 8pm. It will feature poets from India and Pakistan such as Nida Fazli, Saleem Kausar, Muzaffar Razmi, Dr Tabish Mehdi, Pradeep Chowbey, Mansur Usmani, Manzar Bhopali, Majid Deobandi, Shabeena Adeeb and Shakeel Azmi as well as regional and Bahrain-based poets. The Melodic Meet 2011 will be held at The Indian School in Isa Town to raise funds for the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation. It will feature Indian playback singer Kalpana Raghavendra and Franco. The Saar Ensemble featuring members of the Bahrain Chamber Orchestra – David Hlawiczka, Sachi Kitabatake, Aliisa Lee, Iwan Roberts and Dana Smith – will be held at the Cultural Hall next to the Bahrain National Museum at 7.30pm. The programme will include Dvorak piano quintet op61 in A Major and Haydn string quartet op74 no3 in G Minor. Tickets are BD7 and entry is free for students. The Love of Bahrain Carnival Festival will be held at the Lagoon in Amwaj Islands from 10am to 9pm. Guests have the chance to win a three-night stay in MazaganBeach Resort with two Emirates airline tickets to Morocco. The festival will feature activities and entertainment for the family. The Bahrain Triathlon Challenge will host the Olympic Triathlon including a Half Ironman Triathlon featuring a 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run, a Sprint Triathlon featuring 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run, Try-a-Tri featuring a 300m swim, 10km bike and 3km run and a 5km walkathon. Entry fee is BD15 per athlete above 16 and BD20 for a team, BD8 per athlete for juniors aged 12 to 15 and BD12 per team and BD2 for walkers aged 12 and above.
