Bahrain’s ‘Mr Motivator’ Adrian Henson has put pen to paper and hopes his first published work will help inspire victims of the global downturn to come out triumphant in the face of adversity.

Realising that many experienced workers have recently lost long-term jobs due to the recession, he has written a guide designed to help everyone who believes they have something to offer others.

Mr Henson, 55, from Janabiyah, who has worked in teaching and training all his life, said: “The book is for those individuals who feel they could become freelance trainers, life coaches or mentors as a result of their vast array of experiences in whatever sector of business they have worked in, or even as full-time parents.”

Described by its publishers, Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Company, as an ‘exceptional guide’, copies have been snapped up at $11.50 from the popular amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com book-selling websites, especially in the US which is suffering a particularly difficult downturn.

“I’ve always been interested in the psychology of learning and spotting potential – that hidden talent in individuals,” said Mr Henson, a former deputy headmaster and now an international trainer.

He often uses football star David Beckham as an example of what can be achieved when you have a vision and a mission. As a young player he worked tirelessly on the training ground with the goal of one day wearing an England football jersey and went on to achieve so much more.

Mr Henson, was inspired to write his book after hearing the plight of family members involved in journalism back home in the UK who were recently made redundant and felt their wealth of talent and knowledge could be well utilised in the world of training.

During some ‘down time’ during Ramadan he swiftly put pen to paper, drafted a manuscript and sent it to a variety of publishers to test the waters and was delighted when he was chased for the complete work of Inspiration Creates Aspiration – a guide to help develop new trainers to be the best.

“The book is for those individuals who feel they could become freelance trainers, life coaches or mentors as a result of their vast array of experiences in whatever sector of business they have worked in, or even as full-time parents,” Mr Henson said.

Married to teacher Sue, the couple have two children, Ross, 20, currently carving out a professional career in tennis, and Laura, 15.

Mr Henson is focusing on a follow-up book with the working title of The Catalyst as well as organising a conference for the best sales and marketing individuals in the kingdom.
