The 49th Bahrain Open Championship will take place at Awali Golf Club on Friday and Saturday.
The event attracts the best golfers in the region including Asian and European Tour professionals, Bahrain national team players as well as those who compete in the Middle East and North Africa Tour in the UAE.
The professional golfers will be competing for the title and cash prizes whereas amateur players will be playing for alternative prizes including the chance to win a car sponsored by Ahmed Zayani & Sons. The prize will go to the first amateur who registers a hole-in-one on the tough par three sixth hole.
The main sponsor of the event is Bapco, with Arabian Exhibition Management the platinum sponsor and gold sponsors include AMEX, Batelco, Chevron and GPIC. The silver sponsors are Saudi Pan Gulf, BMMI, African & Eastern, Banagas, DHL and Mohammed Jalal & Sons.
