Fair Play to Maradona! Not something you would perhaps associate with the Argentinian owner of the ‘Hand of God’ but my sources tell me that Maradona and his international entourage gave up their business class seats on the flight to Bahrain to allow some of the younger Emirati players the chance to enjoy a taste of luxury, while they took their seats in the economy section.
 
My source also tells me that he had spent an hour in the lounge and also some time on the flight posing for photos and signing autographs, unlike some reports to the contrary.

Michelle and Rodney’s joint birthday bash at home on Friday in aid of the BSPCA raised more than BD1,500 for the animal sanctuary. Guests brought pet food and raffle prize donations along instead of presents and Michelle’s employer, GPIC, contributed BD500 towards the cause which was handed over to Joyce Hughes, the charity’s fund-raising co-ordinator.
