proceeds will be sent by Bookworms to Kitabi Kitabak, an organisation in Jordan

The Breast Cancer Support Group will be
meeting at 11.30am at the World Beat Fitness Centre cafe in Janabiya. The group
(which meets up on the first Wednesday of each month) is for ladies who have
had a breast cancer diagnosis. It’s an opportunity to meet up with other ladies
who have, or are going through, a similar experience and who can relate to what
you are going through and gain support.
Today the group is getting ‘crafty’ and
members will be trying their hand at an origami decoration.

Goodwin will be taking her Nia ‘Move to Heal’ class which is for all cancer

The Red Bull B-Boy Championship will take
place on May 10 at the Batelco Staff Centre in Hamala. Contestants will compete
for a place in a regional contest in Egypt – one step away from the Red Bull BC
One World Final to be held in December in Brazil. Breaking stars B-Boy Cico
from Italy, B-Boy Lamine from France and B-Boy Lil G from Venezuela, will be on
the judging panel in Bahrain. Participants will show off their skills to the

holding its 40th Anniversary Week of Reunion Celebrations from May 14-20. The

This week the much anticipated ‘Tylos, The
Journey Beyond Life’ exhibition opened displaying around 400 artifacts
associated with the numerous cemeteries of the Tylos period (2nd Century BC to 3rd Century AD) in an attempt
to reconstruct the episodes of the journey in the afterlife.
The exhibition, planned in line with the
events of the Month of Museums during the Manama, Capital of Arab Culture
programme, will be displayed in Hall 8 in the National Museum until May 31.
A summer biathlon is to take place on May
25 at the Amwaj Marina in Amwaj Islands. The Juniors Try A Bi, for age groups
12-15, and the 16+ Try A Bi consists of a 300m swim followed by a 3km run. The
main event will feature a 600m swim, followed by a 5km run. For those who
prefer to walk and not swim, a walk-a-thon of 4km is open to anyone aged 11 and
over at BD2 per person. Registration starts at 2pm with the events beginning
from 4pm. Entry fees are BD6 for juniors aged 12-15 and BD8 for adults aged
16+. Other activities will be available including a DJ, face painting, henna

The Seef Mall has introduced a new
attraction, the ‘Roll-A-Ride’ skating rink at its premises. It is situated in
