Music Box

The ending of last week’s Music Box hinted at whoever said 'it's not the winning, but the taking part that’s important’, probably ended up second, applied to my golfing attempts during the week as I finished fourth out of the four players stumbling around the course.

This prompted one of the other guys to state ‘You’re the loser, Stevie’ which meant I had to foot the bill for the post-game coffee and extremely addictive breakfast rolls whilst we discussed golf-scoring handicaps, dog handling and Dodge Chargers.

During these random conversations, the old DJ brain started mulling over songs about ending up as a loser, so let’s see how many of these you know:

Nick Berry – Every Loser Wins

The Killers – Losing Touch

Amy Winehouse – Love Is A Losing Game

Michael Buble – Lost

Green Day – Nice Guys Finish Last

And my personal favourite has to be Loser by the group Beck, from the heady days of 1994.

I did try and think of a breakfast roll song, but nothing springs to mind so instead I’ll get motivated for the next golf instalment, and leave you with another little gem: The bridges you cross before you come to them, are generally over rivers that aren’t there.
