Awali Golf Club (AGC) committee member Ali Musbah shot a solid round of 72 for the best gross score of the day during the club’s Cup Winners Cup and Consolation Cup competitions played in perfect conditions.
Former club president Petri Kettunen also scored 72 but lost on countback. However, Kettunen was the overall winner of the Consolation Cup with a nett 64. AGC vice-captain Steve Newall was runner-up with a nett 65.
The Consolation Cup, which is competed for by players who have not won any event in the season, was lifted by Paul Beaumont with a score of nett 66. Rashid Amin also scored a nett 66 but lost out on countback to finish runner-up.
The final podium place was claimed by Steve Diaper who scored a nett 67. Also featuring in the prize table were Hendrik Wessels (nett 67), Abdulla Al Kaabi (nett 68) and Nathan Sundaresan (nett 68).
