Gulf Weekly Suzanne shares cooking tips

TOP chef Suzanne Husseini signed copies of her top-selling cook book and gave food lovers a taste of her party favourites at a special demonstration for fans.
Suzanne Husseini put on a cooking show at Words BookstoreCafé near Saar and came with a simple message: “When you’re cooking for family and friends, cook it with love.”

Her recipes for traditional foods like falafel, shawarma and stuffed vine leaves with a modern twist often make the heart beat a little faster and the tasty tit-bits she shared were full of flavour. They had a unique sweet and sour combination, were soft as well as crunchy and she urged people to throw away the ‘chips’ (crisps for any Brits reading this article) when it comes to dishing up an entrée.

This October leading publisher Random House will be launching When Suzanne Cooks in Canada and the US. The book is divided into five chapters – Breakfast, Lunch, Mezze, Dinner and Dessert. “The book is full of authentic Arabic dishes that I adore and love to cook for my family and friends,” she explained.

Audience member Divina Altman, from Saar, said: “The food was phenomenal, very refreshing and very tasty.”

The mother-of-two bought three copies of the BD21.500 signed hard-back version of the book, one to keep, one for her sister and the last one for a special friend who loves to cook.

Before leaving Bahrain for her home in Dubai the celebrity chef shared one of her favourite recipes with GulfWeekly readers.
