German automotive giants Volkswagen launched the new CC model at a ceremony at Bahrain City Centre, writes Charlie Holding.

The launch by Behbehani Bothers, the marque’s distributor in the kingdom, took place in the presence of company officials and mall visitors who gathered to view the new model.

Brand manager, Volkswagen Bahrain Felix Miranda, said: “The new Volkswagen CC is a technically and visually-updated version of the popular business vehicle.

“It is a model that combines German engineering and style, and is our most successful four-door coupé. The CC encompasses safety, exquisite style and space.”

The marque is available in three variants 1.8-litre, 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre.

The coupé-styled saloon (formerly known as the Passat CC) may have been renamed but it is still designed with comfort and safety in mind.

Volkswagen is a brand renowned for its impressive list of safety credentials and, according to the company, this is one of the safest models to date.

It boasts sport chassis, ‘Auto-hold’ function, hill start assistant, automatic control of running lights, dynamic chassis control, electronic stabilisation programme and six airbags.

New interior features that are standard on all models also include fatigue detection system, front head restraints with longitudinal ‘X adjustment’, stainless steel door sill plates and the multifunction leather steering wheel.

Prices start from BD11,900. For more information, call 17459977.
