British luxury sports car manufacturer Jaguar launched its most powerful car to date at a reception at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel Residence and Spa.
The XKR-S was unveiled in the presence of officials from Jaguar dealers Mohammed Jalal and Sons and the media.

It is not only the quickest Jaguar ever but also the most agile, responsive and driver-focused, its makers say.

Chris Ward, Jaguar Bahrain sales manager, said: “This is one of the most impressive cars Jaguar has ever built, not only in terms of aesthetics, but also in terms of performance. Many sports cars are built to be admired, but this is definitely a car made to be driven.”

Under the bonnet is a 5-litre, AJ-V8 engine which rockets this mean machine from 0-100kmph in a hair over four seconds, with the potential to reach a staggering 300kmph.

As with competition Jaguars of the past, the exterior of the XKR-S adheres to the principle of form following function and underwent various styling changes and in order for it to achieve 300kmph.

In terms of design, the sleek XKR-S features twin nacelles, side intakes and a carbon-fibre splitter. It also boasts a new rear apron incorporating a carbon-fibre diffuser and a rear wing with carbon-fibre centre section.

The interior features 16-way adjustable sport seats trimmed in carbon leather, a host of new trim materials including ebony soft-feel paint for the switches and gloss black finish to the centre console. The model will also be exclusively available with a Dark Linear Aluminium finish as an option to the wood veneers.

The Jaguar XKR-S is priced at BD55,000. For details, contact Mohammed Jalal and Sons on 17252606.
