Raju Pillai has been promoted to the position of Director Commercial Operations at Bahrain Air. He has been with the airline since its inception in 2008 and insiders say he has played a major role in the company’s development.
Mr Pillai has been involved in the commercial airline industry for more than two decades and will lead the airline’s commercial operations team in identifying solutions and areas to help the company run more efficiently.
“Bahrain Air, being a hybrid airline, is the in the process of transforming into a full-service carrier and a force to be reckoned with in the region,” he said. “I am delighted to take up this position and to lead Bahrain Air’s expansion as one of the region’s preferred carriers. Our main emphasis will be on providing our valued customers with affordable fares and genuine care.”
Captain Ibrahim Al Hamer, managing director of Bahrain Air, added: “Mr Pillai is a highly-experienced senior airline industry professional and he has made a considerable contribution to Bahrain Air’s growth. We are confident that he will live up to our expectations in handling the responsibilities placed upon him.”
