Between Iron Man 2, Avengers 2 and Thor 2, Marvel has their hands full but has still found enough time to spawn a sequel to the box office hit Captain America.
It was recently announced that the former Second World War hero would star in a sequel titled The Winter Soldier.
A new character, Falcon, will be introduced in the film as Marvel’s first mainstream African American superhero, which was recently announced to be played by Anthony Mackie, best known for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Adjustment Bureau. Falcon’s character, a close friend to Captain America in the comic books is said to physically communicate with birds.
Marvel is remaining mum on the plot but the title suggests that Captain America’s buddy Bucky Barnes is found frozen by the Russian Army.
The Winter Soldier will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with an April 4, 2014 release.
