Star of the critically-panned Conan the Barbarian remake, Jason Momoa, is hoping to recover from his disastrous big-screen debut with his latest project.

He has landed the villain role in David Hayter’s thriller Wolves, which centres on a teen, played by Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class), who discovers his family’s hairy history.

He transforms into a werewolf and finds himself on the run after he murders his parents. He eventually arrives in a small town where he learns that the city holds a history of supernatural happenings. Here he meets Momoa, who plays the evil werewolf patriarch who rules the local pack.

Filming will start next month in Toronto, Canada.

Momoa’s next appearance on film will be in Bullet to the Head, which co-stars Sylvester Stallone with a release date of February 1 of next year. Momoa recently wrapped production for Road to Paloma, an indie film that he co-wrote, starred in and directed.
