Pop princess Britney Spears is back in the spotlight and her new attitude as a celebrity judge on the singing talent show The X Factor US may be bearing Simon Cowell’s paw prints.
A teaser from Fox reveals a first look at the singer in her new role, and for those expecting her critiques to be along the lines of what Paula Abdul had to offer on season one, then think again. Instead, the trailer shows Spears cutting through the sweetness and compliments and getting straight to the point.
Britney stated that she is a ‘very subtle’ judge and focuses on trying to use ‘constructive criticism’.
“I’m so excited, I’ve never done anything like this before,” said Spears. “It’s a great process to be a part of, to help someone create their dream.”
However, some of her judging remarks include: ‘Very predictable’, ‘I wanna know who let you on stage’ and ‘bad to the bone’.
The pop icon has been given the 17-to-24s category hoping to attract a young market. She will be joined by singer Demi Lovato alongside Nick Jonas, who were also brought in to appeal to the younger demographic and will reportedly mentor performers 12-to-16.
L A Reid will return to mentor the over-25 performers with Justin Bieber as a helping hand, and Simon Cowell, the creator of the show, will mentor the groups.
The X Factor US will air tomorrow on OSN First/OSN First HD at 8pm.
