Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons has unveiled a redesigned ‘class above’ Nissan Altima, which its makers say breaks new ground when it comes to mid-sized sedans.
The new 2013 version is offered in three 182 bhp, 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine equipped models, the 2.5 S, 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL, as well as two 3.5-litre V6 models, the 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL.
Unveiling the car at Bahrain City Centre, Declan McCluskey, chief executive of Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons, said: “Nissan took one of its most successful models, kept its DNA and changed nearly everything – the visual appeal, the driving experience and, of course, the technology. The new Altima is hands-down the most engaging vehicle in its class.
“If you liked the previous Altima, you’ll love this one even more. And, if you’ve never driven an Altima before, get ready to have your notion of a mid-sized sedan redefined.”
The 2013 Nissan Altima comes equipped with a variety of standard safety features, including the Advanced Air Bag System, driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags, roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags, Vehicle Dynamic Control, 3-point ALR/ELR seat belt system, Isofix child seat mountings, and zone body construction with front and rear crumple zones.
Available features include next-generation Safety Shield technologies, including Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection systems using an innovative single rear camera.
The new general manager of the Y.K. Almoayyed Nissan Dealership, Paul Baker, added: “It’s a stunning looking vehicle. It’s a very important car to the brand as it’s one of the top-selling retail vehicles. It has a tremendous legacy with the company and really it’s a very important product for us.
“I have driven the new Altima over from Sitra to Bahrain City Centre for the launch and the drive quality was absolutely fantastic. It was my first experience of driving a car in Bahrain and it certainly has set very high standards.”
The starting price for the 2013 Nissan Altima is BD7,995. For more information, call 17732732.
