IN gloriously sunny conditions, a welcome change from the recent rains that saw the trolleys of players in the last competition caked in mud and needing a hose-down after play, the Pawson household achieved a double win in Awali Golf Club’s festive charity competition, the Christmas Hamper, sponsored by BMMI/Alosra.
Richard Pawson emerged the overall winner, whilst Jo Pawson, not to be left empty-handed, succeeded as the winner in her Flight. Richard, a member of the Competitions and Handicaps sub-committee, said that issuing Jo with a handicap-cut certificate was one of the day’s highlights for him.
Hamper prizes were presented to the winners by Michael Charles.

Flight 2 – 1 Janet McAlpine (86/68), 2 Ali Danesh (84/68), 3 Steve Litherland (81/69). Flight 3 – 1 Jo Pawson (96/68), 2 Mark Hodgkinson (94/69), 3 Susan Scott (95/70). Best gross and medal winner – Ebrahim Al Hashel, 72.
