Along with this week’s release of the flm on DVD and Blu-ray comes talk of a second instalment and even a potential franchise.
Though there’s been no word on whether Anna Kendrick will return to reprise her role as the lead, Skylar Astin, who plays Anna’s love interest, Jesse, in the original, announced that he and Rebel Wilson, who plays Fat Amy in the movie may be returning.
He told movieweb.com: “I do have a meeting with a Universal representative next week. And I know that Rebel Wilson had hers last weekend. It’s defnitely a talking point.”
With television programmes like Glee, The Voice and The X Factor, the musical comedy about a college a cappella competition was easily one of the biggest sleeper hits of the year and has developed a huge cult following receiving $64 million in the US where it only cost $17 million to make.
