Ford launched the new 2013 Escape at an exciting ceremony at Bahrain City Centre.

The unveiling by Almoayyed Motors, the brand’s dealer in the kingdom, took place in the presence of company officials and spectators who flocked to get a glimpse of the new model. It also featured entertainment from a group of young dancers who wowed the crowd with their energetic routines.

Its makers say the 2013 Escape boasts class-exclusive features and technologies.

Sandeep Mathur, general manager of Almoayyed Motors, said: “We are excited to add the all-new 2013 Ford Escape to our line-up.

“The model offers the strengths that customers looking to buy a small-sized SUV really value – fuel economy, versatility and new technology that revolutionise the driving experience – all wrapped in a sleek, modern design.”

Under the bonnet is a 2.5-litre engine, paired with a SelectShift Automatic six-speed transmission.

Ford says this is one of its most spacious models to date. The new Escape’s rear seats have been designed to fold flat easily and, with the touch of a button, the head restraint folds down too.

Meanwhile, SYNC with MyFord Touch, offers a variety of ways to manage and control information through voice commands, menus accessed through controls on the steering wheel, touch screens, buttons or knobs.

The model is safety orientated too as there is a Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert.

Prices start from BD8,800.
