IT was satisfying to see the authorities finally take some action against the inconsiderate motorists who insist on parking their cars at all angles, and even on the pavements, along Exhibitions Avenue in Hoora.
The illegally-parked vehicles were covered in official glued-down posters advising the violating drivers to move them.
Office workers, shoppers and children are usually forced into the busy road because these loathsome motorists are too lazy to reverse into a space and park up in a straight line.
Perhaps the municipality or the police should go into business with a private company and tow away these vehicles to a piece of secure waste land in Sakhir or Askar with a BD200 release fee.
All profits from the venture could be shared between the two and money gained by the public bodies used to repair the roads and replace all those stolen manhole covers.
Similar partnerships have been formed in the UK and illegal and pesky parking antics are very much a thing of the past in most major cities and towns.
